Holy Trinity Church

Getting married? Congratulations!

We hope you will consider Holy Trinity Church as the venue for your wedding.

Use this page:

- to arrange the reading of your Banns of Marriage for a wedding elsewhere;

- to plan or arrange a wedding in church here;

- to explore the possibility of remarriage in church after divorce.

Banns of Marriage:

Step 1: Please check via the boundaries page that you do reside within Holy Trinity parish.

Step 2: Please use the contact page to let us know about you. We will then be able to welcome you more personally when you come to collect a Banns form (not yet available on-line).

Step 3: You will need to complete and sign the form, and pay the requisite fees - for
current information please visit the Church of England website via the following link ( requires Adobe Acrobat reader ) - Marriage fees

We recommend that you come to Holy Trinity Church one Sunday morning at 10.30am, and see the member of clergy there after the service to request the form. This needs to be completed and returned at least one month, and preferably a full three months, before your wedding, together with the fees. We will then notify you of the three dates on which the Banns will be read, and hope that you and members of your family will wish to be in church on those occasions.
Please see also the Monthly Calendar of Services

We will send the Certificate on to you within a few days of the third reading of the Banns.

To discuss getting married in Holy Trinity Church, please contact one of the clergy, who will be pleased to hear from you.

Weddings are frequently booked a year or more in advance, and this may be necessary if you are to have your first choice of date and time at the church and be accommodated at your preferred reception venue. Please do not make firm arrangements for your reception before checking the availability of the church and one of the clergy. However, we try to be flexible and accommodating and are often able to make arrangements at much shorter notice.

Remarriage following divorce:

If the proposed marriage follows the divorce of one or both parties, a church wedding may be possible subject to the outcome of discussion with one of the clergy.

Please contact us as early as possible for more details.

Loving God,
We thank you for the gift of marriage
and for all the riches brought by love.
Teach us to live
in the light of the love that never ends,
and grant us the grace of patience,
kindness and forgiveness;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
