nightlight
Nearly 1 year Old.
It’s hard to believe but NightLight is 1 year old in April. We are hoping to mark this with some sort of event for Team Members and others who are interested in the work that we do. It has been a very interesting year and it has been good to see so many Christians of different traditions and backgrounds working together.
Please send any suggestions of how we should mark our first birthday to Matthew Pittam matthewpittam@yahoo.co.uk
We are very grateful to the person who designed and built the new mobile counter. Thanks also to those who contributed towards the cost of production. This will involve far less carrying and also helps to give us a greater profile and offers a warmer welcome. The new counter includes heating and lighting. Safety and operational advice will be emailed to each member.
The counter was used for the first time on Friday 8th Feb and we had good feedback from visitors and the Police. Many of those who normally pass through stayed at the counter and we had some interesting chats ‘over the bar’.
It is with sadness that we say farewell to Emma Freeman from Myton Church who is moving to Leeds. Emma has been a very faithful member of Nightlight. It was Emma who designed the NightLight logo.
There is currently a NighLight page on the Hope Leamington website. This is very basic at present and we hope to develop this further. We would like to have a page that we could refer our visitors onto as well as giving better information about what we do. It would be good if NightLight Team Members could look at the present page and suggest any improvement.
It is a great tribute to the dedication of NightLight Team Members that we have continued to operate through the cold weather. Even over the Christmas period we have been able to provide a team. This consistency is important and sends a valuable message to those we meet and serve at night. A big thank you to all everyone for all your hard work.
Recently a member of All Saints, Pam Brown, completed a sponsored knit in aid of Nightlight. She raised £120. Pam has a visual impairment and so this was a major achievement. Many Thanks to Pam.
